Understanding Adolescent Health and Wellbeing in Context: Cross-National Findings from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Study

The (Open Access) special issue features three commentaries and ten research articles. The articles, which are the first to be published using cross-national data from the 2017/18 HBSC survey, can be grouped into three broad areas: social determinants of health, mental health and well-being, and social media and health.

This report presents findings from the 2013–2014 HBSC survey on the demographic and social influences on the health of around 220 000 young people (aged 11, 13 and 15 years) in 42 countries and regions in the WHO European Region and North America.
